Frequently Asked Questions

A few answers to the questions most clients carry into their first conversation with us.

How does Kiyomi’s pricing work? +

Each journey is priced according to the specific experiences, accommodations, duration, and number of travelers involved. Most journeys begin from $20,000 for two travelers.

A Journey Design Fee of $2,500 is required to begin the planning process. This fee is non-refundable and applied in full toward your total journey investment upon confirmation.

A concierge fee of 20% is added to the total journey cost. This covers the full scope of Kiyomi’s work — cultural access, journey design, partner coordination, accommodation strategy, and ongoing support. There are no hidden markups on partner costs.

Is the Journey Design Fee refundable? +

The Journey Design Fee is non-refundable. It represents the research, partner outreach, and proposal development invested specifically for your journey — work that begins the moment the fee is received. If your journey proceeds, it is applied in full toward your total concierge fee.

How far in advance should I plan? +

Most Kiyomi journeys require a minimum of 8 to 12 weeks of planning. This allows sufficient time to arrange the level of cultural access we provide — introductions, private experiences, and accommodations that are not available through conventional channels. For journeys involving rare or seasonally limited access, 4 to 6 months is strongly recommended.

How many journeys does Kiyomi accept each year? +

Kiyomi intentionally limits the number of journeys we accept each year. This is not a constraint of capacity — it is a deliberate choice to protect the depth of every client experience, the integrity of our partner relationships, and the quality of access we are able to provide. If you are considering a journey, we recommend reaching out early.

What is included in a Kiyomi journey? +

Every journey includes private cultural experiences and access arranged through Kiyomi’s trusted partner network, accommodation selected and coordinated for your specific journey, private ground transportation throughout, designated meals including private dining arrangements, a custom pre-departure journey document, and direct access to Roe Nishi throughout planning and during travel.

International flights and travel insurance are not included. Kiyomi strongly recommends comprehensive travel insurance for all journeys.

Do you work with solo travelers or larger groups? +

Kiyomi designs journeys for solo travelers, couples, and small private groups of up to four. Journey investment is priced per journey rather than per person, reflecting the private and exclusive nature of every experience we arrange. Solo travelers are warmly welcome — please inquire and we will discuss what is possible.

All inquiries are personally reviewed by Roe Nishi.
If there is alignment, you will receive a personal response within 48 hours.
